Music for Remembrance Day composed by legendary British pianist/composer Michael Garrick, inspired by Bovingdon’s use as a USAAF base during the Second World War.

Featuring the Michael Garrick Quintet, the Chris Garrick Jazz Strings, the Chiltern Chamber Choir, the Chipperfield Chamber Society, the Eclectic Voices and conductor Scott Stroman.

In this commemoration of the part that the Bovingdon Airfield played in the Second World War, the acclaimed musician and compose Michael Garrick, who coincidentally died on Remembrance Day 11/11/2011, skilfully blends a superb score for piano, bass, drums, trumpet, saxophone and electric violin with orchestral and choral compositions. With two fine baritone and tenor soloists, the entire piece, recorded in 1993, wonderfully spins an intricate web of nostalgic sound pictures of a time when a just war dictated that, for some, life was a sacrifice they were prepared to make for the greater good.
