SLAMCD562 Triologos – Tracce Di Canti (Traces of Chants)

A collection of eight compositions from Pakistan, Argentina, Syria, Japan, Kenya, Hungary and Italy give the Italian group Triologos – with a conventional lineup of saxophone, bass, drums – a very distinctive sound and approach to their music.

Each member of Triologos has a positive role in the music creation, resulting in a style of performance that grabs the listener’s interest on many different levels. The inventiveness of the percussion and drums complementing and enveloping the saxophone lines. This collection, recorded August 2014, is the outcome of years of work by the trio towards a fresh style of jazz, which mixes spiritual and free jazz with world music influences.
